We're Moving!
We are thrilled to announce that the High Plains Library District will be
consolidating Administrative and District Support Services (DSS) staff and
equipment in a 23,900 square foot office building at 2650 W. 29th St. in
Greeley. 40 staff will move from the Centennial Park and Farr Regional
Libraries by early March.
Constructed in 2002, the building initially housed Dale's Carpet. In 2008 New
Frontier Bank took over and completed interior renovations. High Plains Library
District purchased the building from FDIC in December 2009 so its DSS staff
could vacate library space in both the Centennial Park and Farr Regional
Libraries.
The District is making some modifications to the building. The existing
warehouse area is being modified to create a garage for our Bookmobile and
Outreach van and a loading dock to accommodate the District's courier service
and to accept shipments of library materials for processing by the Acquisitions
and Cataloging departments.
The building includes a large meeting room (180 person capacity) adjacent to a
catering kitchen. Starting in April, the room will be available for public use
Monday through Friday, 8:00-5:00 pm; and may be reserved by anyone, just as
meeting rooms at Carbon Valley, Centennial Park, Erie, Farr and Lincoln Park
Libraries are. In addition to making the meeting room available to the public,
the District will use it for library programs and meetings.
Once the DSS move has been completed the District will begin the process of
repurposeing and remodeling space at the Centennial Park and Farr Regional
Libraries. We look forward to providing you with more space, services and
amenities!
