Paws to Read (R)
6:30-7:45 pm, November 4
This program will give young readers a chance to read out loud in a stress-free environment to some very attentive listeners. Therapy dogs will be ready to hear some good stories. Each participant will be given a 15 minute time slot to share a story with one of our furry friends. Please register early by coming in or calling the library at 720-685-5100. Registration begins October 21.
Family Film Night

Ratatouille (Rated G, 110 minutes)
In this Pixar animated comedy, Remy loves fine French food, which is a problem since he happens to be a rat. He lives in an expensive French restaurant and desires to become a chef despite the disapproval of his father and brother who are happy eating garbage. He has adventures every day with a rat-despising staff that wants him gone in this riotous film.
Harvest Festival

Join us as we explore and discuss juvenile fiction chapter books and do a corresponding activity. Books available Nov. 1 at the front desk. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the second meeting for this book will be December 10.
Bilingual Family Storytime/Cuentos Bilingües

Stories and activities will be presented in both Spanish and English. All
are welcome, especially those who speak Spanish or would like exposure to
the Spanish language.

Book Club for Kids

This club is for 3rd-5th graders who enjoy reading and making friends. We read, eat cookies, and have fun book talks. Kids are encouraged to bring their favorite books to share with others. The club meets on the first Thursday of every month.
Paws to Read (R)

Paws to READ dogs will curl up on the floor to share stories with anyone
wanting to read to them. Reluctant readers find that "man's best friends"
are willing to listen. Therapy dogs sit quietly and calmly while children
read aloud to them, allowing children to become more relaxed and confident
about reading.
Native American Heritage Celebration
(all ages)

Please join us as storyteller and flute player Bailey Phelps of the
Cherokee Nation entertains us with Native tales and music. The Iron Family
Dancers will perform Native American dances and share the stories and
symbolism behind the dances with the audience.

Paws to Read (R)

Paws to Read is a program for children in grades 1-5 who are able to read a

share a story with a visiting therapy dog. They may bring their own book or
choose a library book. This program gives young readers a chance to read
aloud in a stress-free environment to calm and attentive therapy dogs.
Registration begins September 28.

Would you like to hang out and talk about books with other kids your age? Come to our Tween Book Club. Snacks provided. This month's selection is The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.
Celebrate American Indian Heritage Month (R)

Explore American Indian heritage with stories and tales, then create an original rattle from twig, yarn and beads.

At New York's Central Zoo, a lion, a zebra, a giraffe and a hippo are best
friends living in a blissful domesticated life in captivity. When one of
them turns up missing, the others search for him only to find themselves on
a ship headed to the exotic island of Madagascar. When their boat wrecks,
these native New Yorkers must take on a much different jungle in this
computer-animated comedy. Refreshments provided.
