3rd Annual Hip-Hop Madness

HPLD has partnered with UNC's Voices of the Americas and Greeley's Best Buy
to present our 3rd Annual Hip Hop event. Enjoy live entertainment by Hip
Hop musicians and dancers, free food and beverage provided by Old Chicago,
and giveaways. College student mentors will be on hand to provide
information on scholarships, programs, and college organizations. This free
inspirational event welcomes teens and their families to celebrate Hip Hop
music/dance. As a community we will motivate each other to achieve our
goals and look forward to a bright promising future.

Where do you even start? The Educational Opportunity Center will help you to understand and navigate the financial aid process in this hour long program.
International Edible Books Festival
Do you devour books? Here is the chance to eat your words! We invite you to
celebrate the International Edible Books Festival by participating in the
following special events:
Edible Books Cake Workshop (R)
(ages 11 and up)
1:00-3:00 pm, March 27
Create cakes that depict scenes from your favorite books. Learn decorating
techniques from a professional decorator then apply your new skills to
create your very own edible book. You can choose to enter your work in the
festival contest on April 1.
International Edible Books Festival (R)
(all ages)
6:00-7:30 pm, April 1
Create cakes, cookies or anything edible that depict scenes or include the
text or form of your favorite book and bring it to the Farr Regional
Library to be displayed in the meeting room. Have your work judged for
prizes, eat tasty edible books, and learn about new and exciting reads from
other edible book creators. Children ages 5-10 will be judged separately
from ages 11 and up. Attendance at the March 27th cookie or cake workshop
is not mandatory to participate in this event.
