Family and Western Heritage Shine in June Dudley's work
A self described "country girl," Texas artist June Dudley grew up as the daughter of a cowboy and relished working alongside her father on their cattle ranch which has now been in their family for over 100 years. This country and ranching influence is evident in her paintings, as is the importance of her strong family heritage. All of the figures in her paintings are either family members or close friends.
Just take a look at one of June's paintings and you will feel the love and emotion wrapped up in each piece. June uniquely blends realistic scenes with impressionistic colors and describes her technique as "impressionistic realism."
This style is evident in the recently released print, "Boss Lady," which is
pictured here. This print was featured on the cover of "Country Lifestyles" magazine October 2007 issue. The painting portrays June's youngest granddaughter. When she was told the title of the painting, she responded "But Gran, I am not bossy!" This signed open edition 22.5x15" print is available for only $45.00. There is also a giclee canvas option.
Don't miss out on the chance to meet June at her booth during the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo in March. The Dudley-Leago Fine Art Booth # E9115-E9117 will be open all through the show, which runs March 3 - 22, 2008. Other exciting news from June - Leaning Tree is releasing 2 of her paintings as greeting cards and a Canadian company is releasing 2 new puzzles based on her work.
